Siebert Clarity Wedding Cake

This cake was a huge LESSON LEARNED... lessons learned about not over drying out the fondant with granulated sugar to compensate for the stickiness of the coloring... lessons learned about cakes breaking out of the pans... lessons learned in 24 hours cause that is literally how long it took to make. Last lesson learned is don't undersell yourself... My fiance and I tag-teamed this project for 40$. We spent OVER that amount in supplies... which I really hadn't expected to do. On top of that, I lost 100$ getting off work that day (but that is neither here nor there), and in the end didn't even charge the couple for the Cake b/c my honey thought that the price was insignificant and not worth bothering the wedded pair over on the day of their wedding. weirdly enough, after their honey moon the couple came back and reimbursed me without my asking they were very sweet!
The Cake Itself:::: is lovely. I couldn't have been more pleased with how it turned out in the end. we used over 6+ boxes of cake mix, 18 eggs, 6 cups water, 2 cups vegetable oil, 4.5lbs base decorating icing, & over 5lbs Fondant icing... makes a 6 layer-3 tier wedding cake masterpiece!!
